EAST TRENT CHURCHES
|
When the 'beating' party arrived at Saint Helena's, South Scarle for a much needed rest, the ladies had prepared some beautifully presented tasty sandwiches, cream scones, and a much needed cup of tea. This was given a good home by the beaters. After a musical reception by the Rector on the church organ and a little bell ringing welcome by Adrian, we all enjoyed an evensong to celebrate the 'Beating of the Bounds' in the Benefice. A very successful day.
Two weary walkers coming down the 'home straight' Hazel and Bill heading for the finishing line!
Approaching the village and a welcome break.
A few tired stragglers, welcomed at the village entrance. Rest is in sight!
Inside St Helena's, David's musical welcome is very much appreciated.
Aahhh! Bill puts St Helena's pews to good use. His comment to the photographer was something like: "The ceiling looks gorgeous from here"!
The refreshments were very well received by all concerned. Now we gather together for the Evensong service. Adrian, gives a general welcome with one of the St Helena's bells.
And Anne takes over at the organ. The service was enjoyed finally by a substantial congregation.
And next? Well, home to put our hard-worked feet up . . . |
