Scarle Bellringers.JPG (80363 bytes)The Bell Ringers start the service with a resounding peal. This was a very welcoming sound to begin the proceedings.

Scarle Congregation 1.JPG (82152 bytes)Some of the congregation for the service and audience for the Mummers' play. See anyone you know?

Scarle Congregation 2.JPG (89520 bytes)The other side of the church also shows a packed congregation and audience. Again everyone looks happy at the thought of an interesting evening of singing and 'Mummery'.

Songs of Praise 4.JPG (54693 bytes)A rear view of events. Is that a choir we see beyond the screen? Hope they're in good voice!

Songs of Praise 2.JPG (64772 bytes)We're sure it's a choir. Do we usually have such a large choir in South Scarle? Well, maybe it's a special occasion. Meanwhile, chat among yourselves for a while.

Songs of Praise 1.JPG (104714 bytes)Everyone getting settled ready for the action. Is that Judy and Bella making some last minute preparations in the  chancel?

Songs of Praise 3.JPG (92376 bytes)A final look round to see that everyone's here. All ready? Then away we go!

Scarle Choir 1.JPG (76979 bytes)The choir on the South side of the chancel (Decani?). They're ready for action.

Scarle Choir 2.JPG (88780 bytes)And the rest of the choir (minus one - he's taking the photo!) on the North side (Cantoris?). Sylvia is at the organ, and Bella is sitting in the foreground ready to lead the action.

4.07.04 Mummers Play S Scarle 46.JPG (88688 bytes)Our two soloists. Vicky and Anne, who sang the tandem solos "He Shall Feed His Flock" from Handel's Messiah. Beautifully executed and very well received.

4.07.04 Mummers Play S Scarle 48.JPG (77191 bytes)But we must have a chat to a few friends on the way out. Who's the lady in the bonnet? Is she anything to do with the Mummers?

4.07.04 Mummers Play S Scarle 49.JPG (78055 bytes)Just a few more words as we go. And a last look round before we say goodnight. There's that lady in the bonnet again . . .
