This special 'service' for young
children and their parents (and others) was started in May 2004. With the promise of minimal restrictions on
children (and their parents!) the first proved very successful, and those
following, (photos below) were equally, if not more, successful.

This
is a splendid gathering of people. And who are those musicians over on the right?
And why the balloons? This looks fun.
It's
Carole and her two daughters, Sarah and Philippa. And is that a trombone on the
altar in the background? It all sounds very interesting!
Now
it's becoming clear. This is another in the Noisy Family Worship series. And
it's a family Baptism (Christening). And on
the back benches that looks as good as it obviously tastes!
This
is Fraser Samuel being christened.
And
this is Eleanor Kate.
That's
a big candle. We'll have to wait and see what that's for. The Rector will tell
us soon.
Now we've all got
a candle. Well, not all, only those
who have been involved in the special Naming ceremony today.
There's
something magical about candles. Look at the pleasure on the children's faces.
All
dressed up in Sunday Best for a very special get-together. Is that the finish of
that part? Yes we'll see what happens next.
Party
dresses are especially welcome. That was very interesting, wasn't it? Yes, but
when are we going to join in? Soon.
Is it all over now? Not yet, but say hello to everyone. Everyone looks very
happy and interested in the proceedings.
Can I join in too? Admiring glances from grownups are very welcome, but what
about those balloons?
When can I put my headdress back on? What's next?
Ah!
It's balloon time. We wondered what they were for. There's also something very
special about balloons. Can we all have one?
Yes,
everyone can join in. Isn't it colourful? Isn't it exciting?
A
successful launch! Even
the grown-ups? Yes anyone can have a go.
Would
you like a green one or a red one? Port or Starboard? Well, I think I'll have both!
Where
have they gone?
Look,
there they are, flying high. Will the labels bring them back to us? We'll see.
Up,
up and away. There are enough balloons for all. Don't be shy! And so ends
another very happy Noisy Family Worship at All Saints Church Collingham.
