The Anglican Collingham Churches' Monthly Calendar below contains information about forthcoming church services and other events in the East Trent Group. These may also be published in the Fleet Magazine.

Group Events

Just a gentle reminder that in each of our churches there is a small red book labelled Prayer Requests. This is for you to write in a name, place or situation that you would wish to have included in the prayers at the service on that day. The entries may be anonymous and we hope you will use this book so that your prayers can be offered.
We also have a Prayer Chain – this is a small group of members who have  promised to pray for others at their request. The contact for messages is Eirlys Cholerton tel 892958.
If you wish to join this praying group or find out more about it, please speak to the Rector or Marion Collins

There is now a car- lift scheme in operation for those who have no way to get to and from church services and events. A call to Anne Ackroyd on 892547 or to Gill Priestley on 892020 will prompt the contacting of a driver with the details of the journey requested. For the scheme to run efficiently we need more volunteer drivers. Please ring to Anne or Gill if you can help!

If you have forthcoming dates, church news or names for the prayer list please contact Marion Collins 892328 by Thursday 6pm for next week’s copy

Notes from Scarle, Besthorpe and Girton

Our friends at Besthorpe sincerely thank all who supported their events and in donations. It has  given a good start to the fundraising for the Holy Trinity Roof fund.  We do hope you will continue to support and encourage our fundraising as we set out to raise a large amount from a small community.  Further information from: Shirley Cormack (892088), Sandra Sterling (892531) and Marilyn Warrington (893480). OR from the Rector or Marion Collins.

St. Helena's Fellowship coffee mornings continue to be a convivial two hours every second Saturday morning in the month. Since our beginnings in 2003 our "customers" have raised lots of money for the Air Ambulance Service.

The services, the coffee mornings and David's "At Homes" still seem to be giving adults and children in Scarle chances to meet which otherwise would perhaps only be "by chance".

Several events are held in aid of the Church Roof Appeal. Details are available from Shirley Connack (892088), Sandra Sterling (892531) and Marilyn Warrington (893480).

Prayer Chain

Did you know that we have a Prayer Chain ministry within our Benefice? The prayer chain is a group committed to praying for people who have asked for special prayer support, usually those who are ill or going through a difficult time. The prayer chain members include the prayer requests in their own private devotions at home. If you feel you would like to be a part of this very important ministry please contact the Rev David Milner or Marion Collins. If you have a request for the Prayer Chain the telephone contact is now Mrs Eirlys Cholerton  892958. Written requests to Mrs Joy Ward at Sunny Nook, 79 High Street, Collingham. All requests are treated confidentially. They will be circulated via a  monthly letter to the group. Names of those being prayed for will only be shared within the group after obtaining the consent of the person for whom the request has been made.
