May Fayre 2005

The Collingham May Fayre has been an annual charity village event for many years. There is something for everyone. It delights young and old alike. Designed to take place in the open, it is usually held in the roads round The Green but in bad weather it goes indoors to the Memorial Hall. Most, if not all, the village clubs, societies, and churches are involved in the 'happening'. This year 2005 (gorgeous May weather, hooray) it was held on The Green, South Collingham on 2nd May.

It was a lovely early Summer day with glorious sunshine for the most part. The Green was packed with stalls, competitions, music and dancing. The whole village seems to turn out and this year was no exception. There must have been a thousand visitors, and ice creams and refreshments were in great demand.

There were numerous stalls representing most village organisations; also a Bouncy Castle, the Lincoln Hospital band played lovely music, the John Blow School showed their skills at Maypole dancing, and a team of Morris dancers provided splendid entertainment. AND there were some fantastic Scarecrows on show.

Join us for a look at this amazing village event; the music and dancing, the stalls, the bouncy castle, the ice-creams, the afternoon teas, and the scarecrows. Click the dancing pig's tail to see all this Fun of the Fayre . . .
