A Country Garden Puzzle.

Each clue uses a pun or riddle and names a flower, plant or tree. Use the initial letter of each flower to name the mystery flower.

 

Try to solve each one yourself first. However, if you get stuck, double click the appropriate strip to see the answer.

I. My first is in famous children's comic or perhaps a man of fashionable appearance - mind I don't ROAR!    Dandelion

2. Sounds like a person who is hostile to someone or something and shares its name with a sea creature.    Anemone

 

3. My first is a winter evergreen combined with a German wine.    Hollyhock

 

4. Combine a Cornish  seaside  resort  with  a  dressmaker' s essential implement for fastening cloth.    Lupin

 

5. I can be poisonous and perhaps in a League of my own.   Ivy

 

6. Spring is just around the corner with this yellow flower - but does it come out at night?    Aconite

 

The Mystery is:-

 DAHLIA

POINTS AWARDED:- 1 point for each correct flower plant or tree  identified = 5 points; + 5 points for solving the mystery.  BONUS - 1 point for each correct spelling of flower plant or tree = 5 points.  Total 15 points.
