OR: Enjoy the South Scarle Christmas Carol Service. This has two or three interesting traditions: An augmented choir directed by Bella Conn, drawn from all parts of the Benefice and including some Collingham Singers. A contribution from the children in the Village. And a visit from Father Christmas. It all finishes up with wine (soft drinks for the children and others) and mince pies. The choir and helpers were later invited to the Old Vicarage for a hot supper . . . Click photos below to enlarge, then . . . The Church is decked with candles and Christmas greenery.
The choir ladies are all geared up and ready to go . . .

The congregation settle in the candle-lit Church for an enjoyable evening . . .
It is a very popular service and fairly crowded . . .
Extremely crowded. Extra chairs were brought in; there's hardly standing room.
At this point the Children perform their parts . . .
First, there is a Birthday Boy to get special attention . . .
Then all the children in the congregation are invited to come and meet Santa . . .
This is a busy scene and there are presents for every child . . .
This says it all, doesn't it?
A well deserved cheer for Santa as he departs the Church to continue with his other duties! . . .
