he really be smoking in the galley?) to return the Collingham Events page.
The
June 2004 Charity Bowls & BBQ event in Collingham, organised by David and Thelma
Tingle, was an evening of fun and sport enjoyed by all. The food was ably prepared by Thelma and Marie.

Thelma
and Marie in the galley, preparing the grub in readiness for the hungry hordes at the
Collingham Churches Barbecue. Are those sausages part of the diet? Really!?
David
gets things organised ready for the bowls 'match' and the beginners'
instruction. (Free tuition provided!) "Now, if you'd like to join this team
here, we'll get a round started."
Beginner's
pitch. 'What do we do with these?' Well, everyone has to start somewhere! And Hey! Ken, that glass looks cool and refreshing.
(Photographer David's comments:- 'What's that about a picture and a thousand
words?')
All
looked on with anxious eyes. So that's how it's done? Left hand down a bit! Now,
who's next? What a lovely sunny evening scene.
Meanwhile,
back in the galley. Let's take a closer look at those sausages. You don't think
we ought to test-drive one do you? Just a little quality audit! The comments of
one observer were: "Doesn't it make your mouth water? They tasted as nice
as they look". How did he know?
Is
this the final reckoning? What a lovely walk back to
count the score in the evening sunshine. Who was the winner of this round? Well,
it really didn't matter did it? It's the company that counts!
A
rising star? Holly shows how it should be done! And wasn't that her
Grandad Ken with a glass of 'milk from a brown cow', in a previous photo? Meanwhile
that looks a hungry gathering debating issues in the background!
A
preview of the other side of the galley? That looks like Marie's expert hand
on the tongues. Gosh! pork chops as well as sausages? A right royal feast!
Photographer's verdict - "These were also yummy!"
The
shades of night are falling fast! And, as the smoke from the campfires drifts
gently over the scene (Or is it from the barbecue? - Hmm, it smells real good!) there
is just time for one more try at perfection. Here goes!
Done!
Come and Get It! Thelma and the goodies, Those sausages do look good don't they?
One final comment was: "And they were delicious".
