This is a presentation about the amazing story1 of a young unmarried Jewish girl expecting a baby, over 2000 years ago. What the local people thought of her. Of how her older fiancé was persuaded to accept her as his bride. The little family then travelled several days to a crowded Bethlehem to register their names on the electoral role; to find room only in the rather dirty and smelly stable of a packed inn. Here a very special baby was born to the young mother. The story then proceeds with some local Shepherds who were startled by an Angel and persuaded to visit the new baby. And how the innkeeper and others reacted to the shepherds, kings, and angels visiting the special child and his loving Mum and Dad.

It was decided to 'stage' the co-operating Churches' performances in the Collingham Methodist Church.

The story starts with the Benefice Churches' contribution about events and gossip surrounding an un-married mother of 2000 years ago . . .

Our journey continued with the Emmanuel Church's contribution about how the Angels encouraged the Shepherds to visit a new-born baby at an Inn in Bethlehem . . .

1.Footnote:    If you feel inclined, you can read this story for yourself in the New Testament of The Bible: St Luke Chapters I and II, and in St Matthew Chapters I and II. Also go back to the Old Testament and look at Isaiah Chapter 9, and look first at his Future King story. Return to story.
