Baptist Church.jpg (93945 bytes)The next part of the story was performed by the Baptist group. This photo is of the Baptist Church in Collingham - Situated in Baptist Lane, it is called the Emmanuel Christian Centre. The Pastor is Ken Morgan of Newark.

Following a good sing of a well-known Christmas hymn (Oh! yes, the audience took part as well) the next scene was introduced by a reading of St John Chapter 1.

Then the shepherds appeared. It was a cold night and their open fire did little to keep them warm. Never mind, it presumably deterred wild animals!

There was talk of a very bright star, and a birth in nearby Bethlehem. It was all very mysterious. But it made for pleasant conversation.

Wow!! A blinding flash of light! What's that? It was an angel. Not just any old angel, but rather a senior one. They were told about the baby Jesus and encouraged to go there and worship him.

This was the cue for a song. Another surprise for the audience! Led by a competent guitar they sang about travelling to Bethlehem.

Then further surprises as they actually travelled around the staging, still happily singing about travelling to Bethlehem, expertly accompanied by their guitarist.

Marvellous! They all got a very well deserved cheer for their wonderfully lively and graphic performance.
