Up

Here is a picture of All Saints' Church, Collingham in 1990. The Church is being prepared for the Flower Festival. Are those two of the flower arrangers coming and going up the lychgate path?  After weeks of preparations, the ladies are putting in a long day on the final layout.

The flowers on our right are outside the North Porch, and on the left - inside the Porch.

Go up the lychgate path above and click the lady entering the North Porch door to enter and see some of the workers, visitors and arrangements for the Festival.

The local newspapers at the time identified the following arrangers and helpers: Mrs Liz Shilito, Mrs Myrtle Benbow, Mrs Megan Mason (organiser), Mrs Doanne Foreman, Mrs Joy Ward, Mrs Marie Cobb, Mrs Lilly Brown, Mrs Rosalie Brewer, Mrs Glennis Muscroft and Miss Barbara Beasley. Southwell Minster Rector Chori, Mr Paul Hale opened with an organ recital; and Mr & Mrs R Smith opened their barn at Vine Farm for a hog roast and barn dance. The events closed with a festival evensong, preacher Ven Clive Handford, Archdeacon of Nottingham.
