A Smile!
Home

Up
In Pensive Mood!
A Village Bower!
Our House of Prayer!
A Smile!

This poem is an adaptation of one that was brought to our attention on Page 9 of the June 2006 parish magazine of St Augustine and St Aidan - 'The Parish Paper', Tonge Moor and Hall i'th Wood, Bolton, Lancs, BL2 2PQ.

The Power of Smiles

Smiling is infectious
You catch it like the 'flu'
When someone smiled at me today
I started smiling too.

I passed around the corner
And someone saw me grin.
When he smiled at me, I guessed
I'd passed it on to him.

I thought about the smile
And realised its worth.
A single smile like mine, I thought,
Could travel round the earth.

If you feel a smile begin
Don't leave it undetected,
Let's start an epidemic quick
And get the world infected.

With small alterations to one or two lines to achieve a smoother scan, the addition of a couple of graphics, and a slight re-arrangement of the verse structure to suit our website presentation, we thought it was well worth sharing. We hope you agree. Thank you Doctor . . .
