As part of the 2004 Girton Summer Festival, this garden at the Old Vicarage (specially opened for the occasion by Mrs D Shea and her husband) proved to be a superb attraction, especially for children of all ages.

Girton Village Hall Children's Gardens.jpg (70683 bytes)We enter a 'Magic Garden' through the Village Hall. Here we have a set of beautiful model gardens constructed by children from Besthorpe School and Girton Village, depicting characters from books and nursery rhymes. The magic starts here!

Hello! That looks exciting. "C'm-on gee-up! Not exactly a Derby winner is he? Where did that other rider come from? Whose stable is he racing under? Don't recognise the livery!"

What beautiful animals, taking it all in their stride! Ah! A tight rein is maintained so that young riders can really enjoy the experience. But who's going to win?

Would you like to pop into the Church now, to see the floral displays?
