EAST TRENT CHURCHES
|
The four day festival, starting Saturday included:-
The barn dance was held in the Village Hall; the teddy bear's picnic at the home of Mr & Mrs Ken Crocker - "One Acre" Westfield Lane; the treasure hunt was in and around St John's churchyard; evensong was held in St John the Baptist, South Collingham; and the Methodist's Summer fete in their Church and Church Hall. The Cricket Match details have been lost, but we have information that "there was a big turnout, and it went very well". In fact we heard that some balls were struck so firmly by a new clerical batsman that some spectators were forced to seek cover in the bar - well that was the explanation! Refreshments were available during the festival:- Sat-Mon Morning Coffee, The Small House, Stocks Hill Church Opening Times were:- Sat/Sun/Mon, 27/28/29 10am - 7.30pm The Flower Festival was a huge success and raised a total of £2,400 for charity. STILL INTERESTED . . .?
