Welcome to the April edition of the site.

Several years ago David Collins wrote an article about Elisabeth Hunt, a World War I nurse buried in the graveyard of All Saints Collingham. At the end of the article he asked if anyone else had any more information. I am pleased to say that her great niece, Jane Stirland, has contacted me with some more information. I have therefore moved David's article World War I Nurse across to the new site and added an update at the end.

Welcome to the March edition of the site.

We are now in Lent which is a period of Christian Study and reflection. Our Bishop, Paul, has issued a challenge to read the Bible in a year. Please see Bishop's Challenge for details. To help with this I have included a link to Xiphos which is a piece of free software that you can download to your PC. It is aimed at Bible study and you can have several versions of the Bible open at the same time to see the differences in interpretation between them. You also have access to dictionaries which tell you a little about each individual mentioned in the Bible, including how to pronounce their names.

I have also included a link to Pray as you go which is a site aimed at busy commuters who want to use their commuting time in prayer. There are daily MP3 files to download with a ten to fifteen minute Bible reading and prayer session.

The Grapevine page now includes the Collect for the day, the Bible readings for the principal service on Sunday, and the Post Communion for the day both on the website itself and in the downloadable pdf document.

Welcome to the February edition of the site.

This month I have been asked to add a link on the Links Page to the Deanery website. I have also added links to the C of E website for the Collects page and the Lectionary page along with another link to the oremus Bible Browser where you can obtain the text from the NRSV Bible.
